Surprise, Surprise!! In fact I did manage to do some recordings - and yessss - even "3 Sekunden"!! But I also would like to introduce 2 songs which are going to be on my forthcoming (demo) album. One is "Avec Toi" which I told you about last time, the other one is called "Summer Morning", a song I wrote back in 1996. Gosh, I can't believe it's actually 12 years ago! You can listen to these songs here on the Songs-Site and as usual in full length on my MySpace Site or my EzFolk Site.
I hope you enjoy them and please do feel free to make comments or give me any kind of constructive feedback! Thank You!
Dear friends,
I hope you are all well. The anticipation of Francis Cabrel’s new album is rising constantly these days! It's going to be released on 31st March! I can’t wait!
Anyway, I thought it was time to update my blog - I know I’m lazy when it comes to blog writing. So - what's the news? Well, I wrote my first song in German which is called "Drei Sekunden" (Three Seconds) - you can read more about it on my MySpace Blog! I have not yet recorded it, in fact I’m still learning how to sing it properly .
But I am seriously working on my first (demo) album. Luckily, all the technical issues have now been sorted out. I will no longer record my guitar with the pickup but with a contact mike which produces an amazing sound on the recordings, very warm and natural. My Korg D888 is working properly again (thanks, Phil!) and I can now start whenever I feel ready!
In fact I have chosen the songs which are to go on it. It will mainly be songs I wrote between 1992 and 1998. There’ll be 11 songs in English and 2 in French. As for the French songs, at first there was just "En Silence", but after a while I realized that I really wanted to go at least 2 French songs on the album. So I digged out this old song I wrote back in 1995 called "Avec Toi". Back then the lyrics were just total crap. Yes, yes, they were! But the melody was really too beautiful to throw it away, so I wrote some new lyrics and I am really happy with the outcome! In fact I did a lot of revising of these old songs over the past years. It did them some good!
I am now singing them again and again, thinking of possible arrangements. I don’t think I will start recording until August. But I’ll sing and train my voice and articulation. So - in case I don’t update my blog until then (which is to be expected...) I wish you all a good summer holiday! ;-)
It's not a long time until Elsa's and Annika's Concerts take place!
We hope to see you there!

(Autumn in Heidelberg festival) !

Hi,
it's been a long time since I ever wrote here. But then there wasn't anything interesting happening. But now I'd just like to write a few words about my last gig.
Last Tuesday I played at the open stage at the Tikk Theater in Heidelberg and I just love the atmosphere about the whole thing. There are all kinds of artists from all countries, dancers, comedians, actors, readers and well, musicians. It's just so interesting to see what others do, to get in touch with other artists, to exchange thoughts about art in general, about song ideas, about what language you write in (not only songs but also comedian acts). What I like in particular about this open stage is that everything is so relaxed. If someone makes a mistake, it's only natural! That doesn't mean that the artists don't take their performance seriously - they perform as professionally as they can - but still the audience don't mind if there's a mistake or two. It just doesn't have to be perfect.
As for me, I played alone this time since Volker has left the group and Conni is still suffering from a broken ankle - which means she mustn't carry heavy things - an accordion, for instance . But performing alone is nearly a kind of spiritual experience to me. Anyway, I played three songs, only in French this time:
Mon coeur (brand new song, yet to be recorded)
Elle dort (by Francis Cabrel) and
Les Etoiles (also yet to be recorded ).
Another singer said that it made her cry when I sang "Elle dort". And yes, it's a wonderful song and I love performing it! I'm glad the song made it to Francis Cabrels latest compilation. Good choice!
Well we had a great gig yesterday in Mannheim! Great café, great atmosphere. I hope I can play there again sometime!
Anyway, I'd like to share this video with you of my song La Voix Qui M'Accompagne. It's not very professional (so don't expect too much!). I hope you like it nonetheless!
Enjoy!

Hi everyone!
I think I have some good news! It seems like my band, Orange Sound Tree is forming again. So far, Volker Nebel is the band's new contrabassist. So, there's been a slight change, since orginally there was no contrabass in OST, but a cello. Next week we are going to meet an accordionist who would very much like to play with us. A cellist might join us, too - so it seems like the orange sound tree is in fact growing! Yesterday Volker and I had our first gig together - and things went pretty well! His contrabass really adds somee orange sparks to the songs . Not sure when we'll be able to make some new recordings, though. Anyway, I'll keep you up-to-date - let's keep our fingers crossed!
